How to write an FAQ page

An FAQ page is:

Great for SEO

Because it gives you an opportunity to add a huge amount of words to your website, including valuable keywords.

Great for your customers

Because it answers their common questions without needing to get in touch

Great for your time

Because customers won't just email with common questions. The ones who do email you are probably more interested!

Great for updating your website

It's super easy to just think of more FAQs to add. Great for keeping your website updated!

What kind of questions should I write?

Think of what customers always ask you. For example, FAQs for a plumber might be:

  • How often should I get my boiler serviced?

  • What brands of boiler do you work with?

  • What areas do you service?

  • Do you fix leaks?

  • How quickly will you come out to help?

  • Do you have a call out fee?

  • What is the average price of a boiler service?

How do I write the answers?

Answer them as simply as you can while making sure you get your keywords in. For example, let's assume you are a Plumber in St Neots hoping to rank for 'Boiler Servicing.'.....

Q: How often should I get my boiler serviced?

A: This can vary but mostly you should get your boiler serviced annually. Regular boiler servicing is essential for safety, efficiency, and longevity. If you are based in St Neots, Cambridge or within a 10 mile radius, feel free to chat to me about servicing your boiler.

The keywords are all underlined.

You'll notice that suddenly the website in the example above would have FOUR more instances of mentioning boiler servicing, PLUS mentions the areas the plumber work in. You can see how Google has a better chance of ranking that website for Boiler Servicing now.
