Transferring your domain name to us
Having your domain name with us is FREE. So why wouldn't you? Domains can be complicated if problems arise, which they often do. So let us take the stress away from you.
We offer this for free because it prevents your website ever being disconnected, which is in both ours and your interest. You will always be the legal owner of your domain name. We are only the managers. We can transfer your domain to us as long as it's with a provider who allows the transfer.
Transferring your mailbox to us
If you've already set up a professional email address, we can transfer that too.
Unfortunately we can't transfer existing email services to us without losing your previous email history. You can keep the same email address, you'll just start with a clean inbox.
You will need to backup your emails manually yourself and reinstate them in your new mailbox. We cannot offer support with this process. If you haven't already set one up, please let us help and don't automatically use a cheap service like 123-Reg or Fasthosts. They have many downsides because they share mass-servers with lots of other hosting companies and therefore clients on these platforms experience frequent blacklisting, downtime and go into spam.
Going ahead with the transfer
If you're happy with the above, let's go.
The process will vary depending on your provider.

FAQs
Q: Why should I transfer you my domain name?
A: If you've bought a domain name yourself, it is your responsibility to keep up with the legalities and tech knowledge needed. Most of our clients are small businesses or sole-traders and don't have the time or knowledge to manage it effectively. In our 10+ years of business, 99% of all website connection issues have come from a client letting a domain name expire or they experience a problem they cannot fix.
The solution = transfer it to us!
Q: But people tell me not to let anyone else be the owner of my domain name?
A: We agree! You will always be registered as the official owner of your domain name. We are registered as the managers, meaning we are responsible for the legalities, tech support, and billing. But if anything should happen to us, you can reach out and claim the domain name.
Q: How much does this cost? Is keeping it myself cheaper?
A: On our web management plans, a primary domain name with us is free. With another provider, they are usually between £10-£20 a year. Plus, with us you get tech support included.
Q: I get all this, but I still want to manage it myself.
A: This is fine, although we are not responsible for any connection issues that arise due to an issue your end. This means if you let it expire, or don't respond promptly to emails from your provider, we may not help you get your website back online. We will ask you to sign a disclaimer making you responsible for any issues that arise due to an issue with your domain name.
Q: What domain provider do you use?
A: We are GoDaddy Partners.
Q: What happens if you go out of business or die?
A: This is the benefit of you still being the legal owner. We would never just vanish without sorting our clients out first. If we died, we have a very comprehensive Death Contingency plan where a nominated third party will be in touch with instructions about transferring the domain back to your own account.
We have actually seen a situation before where a web designer passed away with all his client's domains registered in his own name. We would never let this happen.
